St. Louis Cardinals Tickets

One of the oldest franchises in Major League baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals rank second after the New York Yankees for the most World Series titles with 10. Since the Cardinals early start in 1892, the team has won 17 National League Pennants and it does not look like they are about to stop there.

The next golden decade for St. Louis Cardinal ticket buyers came in the 80's when the franchise was led by the super Wizardry of Ozzie Smith at shortstop. Along with the Wizard of Oz was speedster Vince Coleman who to this day is considered one of the pestiest players to try and get out in the history of the game. The decade included another three National League titles.

The 1990's will always be remembered for Mark McGwire's unbelievable 70 home run season to top Roger Maris record.

In 2009 the Cardinals won their eighth Central Division title led by the super power strength of first baseman Albert Pujois who is basically considered the top player in the entire league by many of the experts. Last season fans enjoyed purchasing St. Cardinals tickets around the league to witness the superhuman performance of Pujois who led the National League with 47 home runs and 124 runs scored and topped the league with a beleaguering .656 slugging percentage. Behind the plate was All Star Yadier Molina who has been recognized as possibly the best defensive catcher in the game.

Throughout the league the Cardinals were one of the most viewed teams in the majors and though they came up just a bit short of another World Series visit, you can expect the franchise to be at the top of the standings in 2010.

In the 1940s the Cardinals were led by Stan "The Man" Musial who has been immortalized with a statue outside of the teams home field at Busch Stadium. Following Musials phenomenal lead, the Cards won three straight pennants from 1942 1944 and pretty much dominated the National League for most of the time while he was wearing a red cap. An unprecedented 24-time All Star selection, Musial drove pitchers crazy as he consumed anything they tried to throw at him. In his career Musial had 3,630 hits and 475 home runs and won three Most Valuable Player awards while leading the Cards to three Championships.

In the 1960s the Cardinals dominated again with Lou Brock tearing up the bases with his lightning speed and Bob Gibsons pitching who defined what it meant to be a superstar pitcher for years to come. The Cards won two Championship rings that decade but broke enough records to call them one of the great teams in Major League Baseball history.
