Ron White Tickets

Ron White is part of the Blue Collar Comedy team that broke out on his own after a long period of struggling, but good things clearly come to those who wait. He was a big hit on the Blue Collar Comedy tour, which was turned into a feature film, has sold ten million CDs and DVDs, as well as two of the top rated Comedy Central specials in the network’s history, and a best selling book, “I Had the Right to Remain Silent…But I Didn’t Have the Ability.”

As White himself has said, “I’ve never been one to look up the ladder. I’ve always looked down the ladder. As long as there’s one guy down there, I’m fine.” He’s also said that if life gives you lemons, make lemonade, “and try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party.”

They Call Him Tater Salad

Ron White is known for having a scotch glass in one hand, and a cigar in the other. He clearly loves the good life. White’s often joked about his love of eating Cheetos naked in his beanbag chair, his love of food (which earned him the nickname “Tater Salad” in the Navy), his dislike of vegetarians (“I didn’t climb to the top of the food chain to eat carrots”), his love of a good drink and a fine cigar. “I didn’t get where I am today by worryin’ about how I’d feel tomorrow,” he has said.

White grew up on comedians as varied as Andy Griffith, Richard Pryor and Cheech and Chong. He has been called “country comedy,” and his first albums came out through the Laughing Hyena label, which specialized in “trucker humor.”

After many years of struggle, White got his big break performing on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, and one writer called him “the bluest of the Blue Collar comedians,” a reference to the old term of a comedian performing R or X rated jokes as “blue” humor. White toured with the Blue Collar Comedy team from 2000 to 2003, when he released his first major label comedy album, Drunk in Public, which went gold.

Chili, All Things Scotch, Cheetos and Hilarity

A fan review on the net of White’s routines have called him “the funniest comedian I’ve seen in a while,” and another wrote, “A great first impression. This was the first stand-up I saw of Ron ‘Tater Salad’ White, and I loved every minute of it.”

One reviewer wrote, “At 6 foot 2 inches Ron White is not hard to miss. His timing and beat is impeccable. He knows how to engage an audience. Entertain them. And excite them.”

As White himself has said, “I realized from a fairly young comedic age that the only common denominator between all really famous comedians was that they were basically true to their own nature. I always had a really strong presence on stage. You gotta have great content, but if you don’t have that pace and rhythm and timing, which I had by day one, then you can’t develop it.”
