This week Rascal Flatts is joining Shakira who is singing her new single, "Gypsy," on American Idol. Then, it is back on the road for the rascally trio for a four month tour; tickets for Rascal Flatts Unstoppable Tour and Nothing Like This Tour, available below. "Take Me There" is a song about wanting and meeting an attractive girl to know "what's behind her beautiful face." "Here's To You," an uptempo rocker about being at one of their own concerts, says why they do what they do: "it's for the fans." Judging by the video for the latter and the lyrical content of the former, Rascal Flatts are exciting for their attempt to include their audience in the party and create some depth in their ideas. But, mostly, "Summer Nights," and a majority, a huge majority, of their music is: fun. If it weren't country music in theme, chord arrangements, and delivery, Rascal Flatts could make a compelling rock and roll outfit.
Rascal Flatts Tour starts officially in Nashville at LP Field, June 12. They will be jamming this summer as a headliner. Joining them will be Easton Corbin, Billy Currington, Randy Houser, Martina McBride, and more surprises to be announced. The day before the Nashville gig, they have a show in New York. Rascal Flatts posted a fan alert on their myspace page concerning their opening day show at the Rockefeller Plaza, June 11: "Fans and visitors are encouraged to come to the plaza for the live performances. Viewing is on a first-come, first-served basis outside TODAY's window-on-the-world studio, located at 49th Street and Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Fans should arrive by 6 a.m. for best viewing."
Rascal Flatts have a unique way of naming their tours. Usually a band has one name for a tour per year and that's it. The Rascal Flatt way of naming a tour is different. Their tours overlap the years and have followed more closely to the releases, since 2004. Their tours have been: American Living Unstoppable Tour (2009'“2010); Bob That Head Tour (2008'“2009); Still Feels Good Tour (2007'“2008); Me & My Gang Tour (2006'“2007); Here's to You Tour (2004-2005); Brooks & Dunn's Neon Circus & Wild West Show (2003); I Melt Tour (2002'“2003); and Jo Dee Messina's Burn Tour (2000-2001) was the name of their first tour. Soon they will be switching over to the Nothing Like This Tour (2010-2011).
