Penn and Teller are the wise and witty long running comedy and magic team, Penn Jilette recognizable for his curly hair and glasses, Raymond Joseph Teller known for being his silent partner. They've been a hit on the magic and comedy circuits for years and have been performing regularly in Vegas since 2001.

Great Magic and Laughs

Penn and Teller have been performing together for over thirty years. Penn and Teller were initially part of a trio with Weir Chrisimer, who introduced the two, and the three were originally calling themselves The Asparagus Valley Cultural Society.

Then Penn and Teller (much better name than that Asparagus one, no?) first came to prominence with their off Broadway show, Penn and Teller Go Public, which was also filmed for PBS and won an Emmy. Then Penn and Teller went to Broadway in 1987, and gained fame from making many appearances on the late night talk show circuit.

Penn and Teller, No Bullsh*t

Penn and Teller have made numerous TV appearances, and have helmed many of their own TV specials showcasing their comedy and magic including Don't Try This at Home, Penn and Teller's Home Invasion, Penn and Teller's Sin City Spectacular, and Penn and Teller: Off the Deep End.

Penn and Teller have also written a series of books including Penn and Teller's How to Play in Traffic, Penn and Teller's How to Play with Your Food, Penn and Teller's Cruel Tricks for Dear Friends, and more.

Not to mention Penn and Teller have also hosted their own successful Showtime cable show where they try to expose the world's frauds called Penn and Teller: Bullsh*t! They pull back the curtain on such things as alien abduction, gun control, anger management programs, the war on drugs and more. As magicians, these guys know tricks, illusions and smoke and mirrors when they see 'em.

Penn and Teller Respecting the Magic

Penn and Teller have been serious magicians for a long time, and like many of the greats in magic, they invent their own tricks. Penn and Teller do a lot of card tricks in their show, but they have crazy tricks like Teller getting mowed down by an 18-wheeler, or Teller hanging upside down over a bed of nails, with Penn in charge of yanking the rope up and down like a yo-yo.

One fan who saw Penn and Teller wrote that he's very jaded by magic, because there's a lot of bad magicians out there, and he's a magician himself, but seeing Penn and Teller in the flesh was "one of the best, most refreshing magic shows I've seen in a long, long time. Really well thought out, really impressive, funny and entertaining."

Another fan also wrote, "I had seen many of the tricks done in their many specials, but seeing them live made me an even bigger fan." And indeed, seeing great magic performed right before your very eyes absolutely makes you a bigger fan of the magicians. It's also gotta be some kind of magic trick in itself that ater thrity years together, the illusions and wit of Penn and Teller are still fresh and fun to see.
