Team golf doesn't get any better than watching the Shark Shootout live. The Challenge Season of the PGA follows the regular season. The Shark Shootout is part of the post-season fun. It is after the final 'money event' for the PGA season. Scott Hoch & Ken Perry, Hank Kuehne & Jeff Sluman, and Scott McCarron & Brad Faxon are all successful 'Sharks,' who have won the shootout in past years. This is a fairly recent PGA event. It began in 1989.

The event takes place in Naples, Florida at Tiburón Golf Club. There two courses that are used for the Shark Shootout. 'The Gold Course' was designed in conjunction with the Audubon Society and is a certified sanctuary. The other course is called 'The Black Course.' Norman designed the two golf courses himself! They are examples of links that deeply consider their natural setting. They are 800 acres of beautiful golf countryside. Lush stacked sod-wall and tricky coquina waste bunkers dot the course.

Greg Norman is the Shootout's long-time host. Norman's nickname is 'The Shark.' It is no surprise he is the tournament's host. Some fans wonder which came first the event or Norman's nickname. The answer is: Norman did. Greg Norman's production company is sponsoring the Shark Shootout. The tournament charity, among others, has been the CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation. Norman's company is committed to the managing of the Shark Shootout and benefitting the tournament's charities. The Norman Group has been focused on producing marketing initiatives and profits so the Shootout will prosper and continue. And they are working hard to maintain their contribution levels to CureSearch. Because the research organization is in dire need of contributions so they may continue making treatments and cures available to children worldwide, the Shootout's success is vital.
