Los Angeles Kings Tickets

The Los Angeles Kings have been the hottest selling tickets in Los Angeles since the NHL expansion of the Western Hockey League in 1967. Jack Kent Cooke started the new franchise with a two million dollar NHL fee and then invested all of his time into building a home for them that, ultimately, became the "Fabulous Forum" in Inglewood, CA. After the start of the season, the Kings played their first game in the arena in their original colors of purple and gold on December 30, 1967.

The first season was nothing to write home about, as there was nothing royal about the Kings' defeat by the Minnesota All Stars in the playoffs. 24-42-10 was the overall standing after the second season but fans still flocked to buy tickets to see the newly crowned royalty on ice. The Los Angeles Kings did make it to the Western Finals but were swept in 4 games by the St. Louis Blues. Fans still continued to find their way to the seats, tickets in hand.

Kings Tickets a Bargain

The loss of the Stanley Cup finals to the Montreal Canadians was a tarnish on the acclaim that the team had recently achieved, but proved most difficult on Gretzky who was dealing with a downturn in his career. He left for the St. Louis Blues as the team fell into the slump previously familiar to them. A comeback was quite apparent when Larry Robinson came to the team and also returned fans to the seats in the 1995 season. The Los Angeles Kings were skating their way back into the playoffs in the 1997-98 season along with new members Luc Robitaille, Josef Stumpel, Glen Murray, and all-star Rob Blake. Blake was voted as the best defenseman in the NHL and took home the Norris trophy.

Tickets are always considered a hot item to any event in Los Angeles; particularly those to see the Los Angeles Kings. It was a gift to the fans, as well as the team when plans were unveiled for the new state-of-the art sports & entertainments complex to be called The Staples Center. The Forum had seen better days and ticket holders were much more likely to make their way to experience the modern amenities that this new centrally located arena would offer. It has became home to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers basketball teams along with other top sporting events and also concerts and events that can be found in the heart of the city of angels.

The 2001-02 season was extraordinary for the Los Angeles Kings in there new arena and in every other city they visited. The Kings were in contention for the Stanley Cup but were defeated by the Colorado Avalanche; a series that was a ticket sale bonanza.

Having sliced the ice into the new millennium and onward, the Los Angeles Kings continue to be an attraction that amazes both fans and non-fans alike who make it a point to buy tickets to see them.

Things started to look up for Los Angeles Kings ticket holders in the years that followed which saw continuous NHL appearances in the playoffs. Despite many ups and downs leading up to 1987, times were about to drastically change for the Kings when Bruce McNall became a partial owner of the team and made it a point to enlist Wayne Gretzky along with Marty McSorley and Mike Krushelnyski in a trade that would lead to a host of stunning victories and the teams' first ticket sale bonanza with their first trip to the Stanley Cup finals.
