"Sex On Fire" is the new Kings of Leon hit, sure to be played this summer, as Kings of Leon take-off on a tour of the U.S. and U.K. "Kings of Leon Tickets" finally prove they are a headlining act, one of the top sellers today. The former opening act for the likes of U2, Bob Dylan, The Strokes and Pearl Jam are now superstars in their own right. They can now boast of their own hot opening acts: the Black Keys, the Drums, the Whigs, and the Features. They will be performimg at venues like the Borgata Event Center in Atlantic City, the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, the Ford Amphitheater in Tampa, the Cricket Wireless Pavilion in Phoenix and the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati. In the U.K., the Kings of Leon will be playing at Hyde Park in London, Weston Park in Staffordshire and Highlands Park in Chelmsford.

The hard rocking brothers (and one cousin) Followill, named Caleb, Nathan, Jared and Matthew, respectively, put on an energetic live show, eschewing pyrotechnics and fancy lighting. They concentrate on their strengths: great hit songs, solid musicianship, and a rare "tightness" that can only come from being brothers that have played together since their early teens. The Kings of Leon broke-out last year with their Grammy Winning album "Only By the Night." The Kings concerts often open with the shimmering, Spingsteenian "Use Somebody," the second hit single from the new album. From there the boys really get rolling and delve right into hard rockers like "Crawl" and the U2-ish "Knocked Up." They may date supermodels and get the girls screaming, but it's their rock 'n' roll chops that have music fans in admiration. Kings of Leon clearly have "something for everyone," including the obligatory power ballad, the soaring "Notion." Highlights of their live show are often southern rock-styled classics "Molly's Chambers" and "Taper Jean Girl." Because the songs are just so good, they've remained in the setlist for years.
The Kings of Leon are finally superstars in their own country after long having been a sensation in the U.K. It took a lot of hard work and hard touring. But great songs on killer albums help. The Kings of Leon hail from Jackson, Tennessee, though they spent their "Youth and Young Manhood" traveling around the south with their itinerant preacher father. Perhaps this is where from where their "touring bug" came. In 2003, they released their debut EP "Holy Roller Novocaine," which was later re-worked and incorporated into their widely acclaimed debut album, the southern rock flavored "Youth and Young Manhood." The Kings' second album, the stunning "Aha Shake Heartbreak," showcased a more eclectic flavor with The Who, The Clash, and Thin Lizzy seeming the dominant influences. With this album, the Kings of Leon were up-and-running (in England and Australia). American success was still elusive. 2007's "Because of the Times" made inroads in that direction, particularly with the song and video "Knocked Up." The Kings were selling out all over the U.K., Ireland, and Australia, yet it was not until "Only By the Night" that they could add the U.S. to their list of triumphs. (It was a Top Ten album in more than ten countries). "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody" are their new smash hit singles, both highlights of the Kings' concerts.
