Kansas 300 Tickets

In 1997, the International Speedway Corporation (ISC) selected Kansas City, Kansas and Wyandotte County Kansas as the site for what would be a new speedway facility in the Midwest region of the United States. The facility would be called the Kansas Speedway and have a capacity of 75,000 seats. It was finally going to be time for NASCAR fans to get their hands on tickets for the most death-defying sport on the planet.

The initial tickets made available to fans for the Kansas Speedway were sold as P.A.S.S., or Preferred Access Speedway Seating in 1999. The first Fan P.A.S.S. was sold to George Brett, formerly a player on the Kansas City Royals. His status as an Inductee of the Baseball Hall of Fame led to a vast amount of tickets sold right off the bat. Fans that had paid for this type of V.I.P. ticket were given the best seat choices at the track and were allowed to block them for the season. This was the premier manner in which to buy amazing tickets to see the races in Kansas and ultimately, for the Kansas 300. Unsurprisingly, the 32 luxury suits in the new facility we sold out in just one day. Due to the overwhelming demand that was immediately apparent to officials, the speedway capacity was increased to 82,000 people and 36 more suites were built in addition to the original 32.

While bringing many major corporate sponsors on board from the beginning, the Kansas Speedway also made strong note of the fact that they would utilize the laborers from the Woman Business Enterprises and Minority Business Enterprises in order to construct the stadium and its many ancillary facilities. With the high demand of tickets, it was more than clear that the Kansas Speedway would not be allowed to cut even one slight corner.

The Indy Racing League and, most importantly NASCAR, signed the papers that agreed that both would make use of the stadium for events starting on 2001. The Indy Racing League would start off the season followed by the NASCAR Busch Series and the NASCAR Winston Cup Series in September of the same year. Tickets for all of these events would be sold with the direct cooperation with the parent organizations. It was then announced by NASCAR that a third event called the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race would also debut in Kansas after the track paving began in 2000 and was completed at the start of 2001. The first official test weekend was in April 2001, when Hoosier Tires brought the official ARCA RE/MAX Series, as well as the Daytona Indy Lights Championship test were displayed at the new stadium. To the excitement of the thousands of fans who had found tickets to the weekend event, speeds topped 170mph and allowed for an even more highly anticipated 'Meet Your Seats Day' for the Founding Fans in April 2001.

With thousands of fans having cashed in their tickets at the gates to the Kansas Speedway, on September 2001, the great Jeff Gordon won the NASCAR Winston Cup Series at the new stadium. Since then, NASCAR has considered the Kansas Speedway a member of its family of stadiums. Many NASCAR fans buy tickets to see the Kansas 300 at the track on an annual basis. Get yours now before the only thing left on the track is smoke.
