With four Division titles, four Conference titles and two back-to-back championships in 1994 and 1995, there is always a demand for Houston Rockets tickets in Texas. Founded in 1967 in San Diego, the Rockets had an auspicious beginning until moving to Houston in 1969 and finding their stride against the dynasty teams that were ubiquitous throughout the following decades of the NBA.
These days the Rockets play in the Toyota Center arena located in downtown Houston. Though the team has been riddled with injuries, attendance numbers have increased in recent years due to the acquisition of towering players like Yao Ming, a seven-foot six Center from China and the recent trade for Trevor Ariza to help out when Ming is out.
In the late 1970s into the 1980s fans fought for Houston Rockets tickets to catch the lofty tall statutory strength of three-time MVP Moses Malone who dominated the game by delivering timely scoring in clutch games and pretty much controlled the offensive boards. It was in the 80s however when the Rockets acquired the Twin Towers which would lead to a number of postseason appearances. The towering strength and supremacy of Hakeem Olajuwon and buzzer beater Ralph Samson brought a certain magnificence to the NBA. It was a time NBA history that will often be related to as the time of the dinosaurs because the superstars of this era will never be forgotten. Olajuwon put up monster numbers which would only fall into the shadows of what Michael Jordan was up to in Chicago, but if you look at the statistics there is no wonder why Houston Rockets tickets were hard to find in those days.
In the 1990s the Houston Rockets acquired Clyde Drexler to deepen the clubs offensive threat and the results led to Championships with Olajuwon leading the league with blocked shots. The Rockets defeated the New York Knicks in the 94 series that went to 7 games and then beat Shaquille ONeils Orlando Magic the following year. The next year the Rockets acquired Charles Barkley from Phoenix and the roster became known as the Big Three which consisted of Olajuwon, Drexler and Barkley.
