Daughtry Tickets

The Daughtry opener at the Idaho Center in Nampa in late April, bulleted-out all the right riffs and growled and howled in all the right spots. It's been reviewed that Daughty is a downright righteous-gnarly rock show. Grunge may have died, but no one told Daughtry. That's a good thing. Their rock anthems do not retain the dread and anxiety of Cobainian angst, but it is only the compelling attractiveness in the subdued dude front man Chris Daughtry that keeps things light enough to be enjoyable. For the most part, lasers, hard, pounding drums, Daughtry is a serious band. The neat skill is the cleverness in which Daughtry is trying to find their way. The band is pulling together. The singing is rich. The small fieriness that was at a trace when Daughtry began this tour is now a mixture of combustion. In a couple more shows, you could be the lucky witness to the moment when Daughtry hit stride and explode. That will be a sense of liveliness and excitement true fans of the band won't want to miss.

The rock pride of American Idol, Chris Daughtry, is touring like a madman, making tickets to his show the best sleeper great concert of the summer. The hit single "No Surprise," could just as swell be a response to that last statement. A lot of his fans guessed he'd be even better than his American Idol performances. It is a stunning achievement. You should have guessed, live, in concert, is always better than television. The band has already released it's second album, "Leave This Town." Remember, Daughtry is a band. Hits from all their albums, "It's Not Over," "Home," "Gone," "Feels Like Tonight," "What About Now," and "Breakdown," are finding their feet and growing wings in their intense live sets. These sets of music are relentless, powerful, and a sharp light show too. The crowd seems to focus on Chris, but Chris seems to focus on the band. He works well with the audience and is definitely singing his heart out to them. But, what is supremely interesting to behold is the musicianship at work on the stage, the fun they are having rocking out together. Easy, safe, and fast is how we get your Daughtry tickets to you. But for this band, nothing has been achieved without great effort, a lot of pressure. But the fellows in the band seem to take it all in stride. Their goal is to just put on the best show imaginable, all the while writing new tunes, and working to be a better team. The early tour sound and mix mix-ups having been easily solved: the band bought bigger speakers. Although "Maxed-Out Speaker-Crackle" work great when pushing for that barroom sound, it makes for a better song title. Especially when you have a singer like Chris. Daughtry must get used to being a bigger band with more fans and bigger shows. The highlight is the brimming voice. And to hear the vocals clean and loud, the rush of the hard-edged jangle of the band supporting the honest delivery is very worth it to hear so cleanly and crunchy. It's a delightful live concert. Josh Steely is the perfect guitar player for this band; Joe Barnes can really roll the skins and shake the front row seats, does a great Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" floor tom, snare, crash roll-in.

"Feels Like Tonight" and "Rebel Yell" were show stand-outs. The band knows how to cut a rug, solo-out, and have fun. "Home" and "It's Not Over" are really getting to be classic at a Daughtry concert. But, the band is planning an entirely new setlist. Which tunes will be saved? What will be the new material? The pre-tour practice sessions are tightly guarded secrets. The band really want to surprise and reward the fans with a bunch of new tunes. Plus, the guys just really like to jam. It is a fun thing to speculate about Daughtry's setlist. And Chris is not going to disappoint. Catch Daughtry live. Then you'll know. And be happy you enjoyed the show.
