The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Squad is one of the most recognizable icons of the National Football League (NFL) and is known worldwide as American Cultural Ambassadors. The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Family and Friends Extravaganza is the celebration of the hard work and, yes, sacrifice that these beautiful women put in to become part of arguably the most admired cheerleading team in professional sports.
Come the end of the NFL Season, just after the Super Bowl and Pro-Bowl, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have a Family and Friends Extravaganza in late February or March. It is the final show for the previous year's team and designed as a big thank you for all the people who helped support the women over their year as Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
The tryouts for the next year's team begin in earnest beginning in April and May and though veteran cheerleaders are able to skip those two rounds the team is not a place for favoritism or slackers. Each returning veteran has to earn her place, much as the Dallas Cowboys football players do, or face being cut and replaced by better talent. But the rewards are truly special for those tough and talented enough to make it. From photo calendars to world travel and being a part of the NFL's premier cheerleading squad as well as being on the sidelines when the Cowboys play at home the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are as famous as one can get in Texas, the USA and most of the world.
Of course the Family and Friends Extravaganza is a place to get autographs on much of the memorabilia that bears the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders stamp of approval, something fans of all ages might keep in mind.
Being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader is not a full time job. Most of these beautiful women work and take time out of their busy lives to try out for the squad. They then are booked for appearances outside of the games themselves all over Texas and the United States. They even perform routines as part of the tours of American Military bases and USO Tours and have been on Oprah!
