Born Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos, Angel hails from Long Island, New York. Angel said he became hooked on magic when his aunt showed him a card trick when he was seven years old. "From that day on, I was hooked," Angel said. "I felt this incredible sense of power and began to invent illusions."

The show name, Believe, also comes from Houdini. It's a secret code word he gave to his wife, telling her if people wanted to contact him in the spirit world after he passed away, use the word 'Believe' as the password.
