Chicago Cubs Tickets

The Chicago Cubs are one of the best-loved baseball teams of all time. The Cubs played their first professional game in 1870. The team's early success and their chances for a win in the championship were ruined by the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which destroyed the team's equipment and their home field as well. Then, in 1897, the team adopted the name Chicago Cubs. The Cubs' uniforms are blue, white, and red, and their logo is the word Cubs with an oversized C.

Team History

There are some theories why the Cubs have had such a long streak of bad luck. One example is the Curse of the Billy Goat. This was said to have started in 1945 when Billy Sianis, the owner of the Billy Goat Tavern, was asked to leave Wrigley Field during a World Series game because he had a pet goat whose odor was bothering the other spectators. Billy then said that the Cubs, wouldn't win any more. Fans interpreted this to mean that the Cubs would never win the World Series. In recent years, a few attempts have been made to break the curse by bringing a goat onto the baseball field, but with only limited success.

The Cubs no longer have superstar Sammy Sosa on their team, but with standout veterans like Derek Lee, Aramis Ramirez and Alfonso Soriano, every sports ticket broker is staying busy. The Cubs certainly have a solid chance of making it to the World Series.

Wrigley Field Tickets

The stadium is truly a landmark, because it's where the Cubs have been playing since 1916. It remains a very popular venue, and sold out tickets to Cubs games can be hard to get, especially in the summer. Cubs fans are understandably upset at the prospect of the new owner, Sam Zell, selling the naming rights to Wrigley Field.

The Cubs are often called Loveable Losers because, despite their wide popularity, they have gone nearly 100 years without winning a Championship game. That doesn't mean a slowdown among fans who want to buy Cubs tickets, though. The nation loves to make jokes about having winning streaks as good as the Cubs. The franchise has become synonymous with the curse of the losing streak.
