Bob Hope Classic Tickets

The Bob Hope will never die. Through the years, The Bob Hope Classic has re-energized itself. The professionals and celebrity pro-am participants continue to be more modern and cutting-edge. The Hope Classic is a long five-day event. Eighteen holes are played each day. The old-time favorites of the tourney may be gone, like Bing Crosby, Burt Lancaster, and Kirk Douglas. But its Palm Springs location remains one of golf's best-laid courses'”and then there is the weather! The winds and gusts are still no stranger to the course. And fun is still the name of the game at the Hope.

In the last five years, the Bob Hope Classic has added a track designed by Arnold Palmer, received as a donation. There is also the fun each year of picking out the 'Classic Girls' chosen from local colleges to represent the professional golf tournament. One girl becomes the 'Classic Queen.'

But the Hope's biggest draw will always be its celebrities'”and the memory of some of golf's most intense games. Arnold Palmer has set many records there. Frank Sinatra played the course. In 1995 Clinton, Bush, Ford and Hope all played together. Bob Hope was arguably Hollywood's greatest golfer, but definitely its biggest early promoter. He has been connected to the tournament since the 60s and he is vital to its long history and future.

The Classic was founded in California at the beginning of 1960. It had been inspired by an invitational in Palm Springs called The Thunderbird and basically is an offshoot of that tourney. The Classic has been played in many different locations, throughout California. People affiliate it mostly with Palm Springs. Many also see the Bob Hope as slightly antiquated. But, over the decades, the courses and players have enjoyed a steady evolution to modernity: the courses have been more-and-more suited to PGA players and the roster of pros has been steadily improving.
