Team History

2009 was not a banner year for the O's by any stretch of the imagination, but with some recent call ups from the minors and a few other minor adjustments fans can hope that the 2010 season will produce better results. Over the years tickets for Baltimore Orioles games have always been a hot seller.

In 2010 Baltimore can take heart knowing that they have one of the youngest rosters in the Major Leagues which means that anything can happen. This winter the Baltimore Orioles plan on making some big changes using trades and free agency opportunities to produce more wins to live up to their illustrious history.

Team representatives have been quoted on a number of occasions that they hope to add a right-handed slugger or two this winter. The O's are also looking to fill in spots at the corners of the infield for 2010 and are looking to take whatever moves are necessary to generate some heat this summer.

The glory years for Baltimore Orioles started in 1966 when the franchise swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series with Hall of Famers Frank Robinson, Jim Palmer and Brooks Robinson leading the way for a series of consecutive league titles. In 1969 the Orioles won 109 games winning the newly created American League East division title.
