The outrageous and controversial Andrew Dice Clay has shocked and made audiences laugh hard for decades now, and he's made Vegas a second home for many years, one of many top comedians who have conquered the Strip.

As you can probably guess from his onstage persona, atomic pompadour, black leather jacket, black as night sunglasses and 'fuhgetabouit' demeanor, Andrew Dice Clay is from New York (his birthname is Andrew Clay Silverstein).

Then Clay did his first HBO Special, The Diceman Cometh, released his hit debut comedy album Dice in 1990, and sold out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row in 1990. During a new age of politically incorrect comedy, Dice became one of the kings along with Sam Kinison, selling tons of albums and selling out arenas.

Dice has called one of his DVDs, 'No Apologies,' and it's the attitude he's always had with his act and his career (another appropriately titled Dice special is 'Down and Dirty').

Dice Unleashed

Dice's career has been the subject of controversy throughout his career. He got banned for life from MTV for using harsh language (the guy hitting the bleeper button probably got arthritis), and he's been the enemy of the politically correct for many years. In response, Dice has said, 'People are taking the act too seriously. The "Dice man" character is a macho moron. It's juvenile comedy. I just like to make people laugh.'

Dice was especially flattered to perform in the Elvis showroom in Vegas, and told Vegas news, "The Hilton is known for having the Kings of Entertainment. Elvis, the King of Rock 'n' Roll, and now they have me, The Undisputed Heavyweight Comedy King. Don't forget that The Hilton is an institution. And let's face it*anyone who has heard my act knows that an institution is exactly where I belong."

The Hilton has called Dice the comedian who is 'putting the SIN back in the CITY,' and one reviewer points out at a Dice show, he 'drops f-bombs like they're going out of style.' As another reviewer put it, 'His shows are not for the squeamish or faint of heart. Don't take the kids or the preacher's wife to see Dice, unless they don't understand English. Politically correct? Not for a minute.' And Dice wouldn't have it any other way.
