AC/DC Tickets

God said let there be light, AC/DC said let there be rock, and after all these years, AC/DC remain the quintessential rock and roll band. Like the cannon fire at the end of 'For Those About To Rock', AC/DC are joyously loud, and when you see them live, you'll never have more fun getting blasted against the wall. As the band themselves once put it, 'Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution.'

Angus Young's trademark Gibson SG, the only guitar he'll play live and on album, is a key component to the AC/DC trademark sound. Young's brother, rhythm guitarist Malcolm, hammers out great blues crunches that perfectly compliment Angus' high voltage lead work. Drummer Phil Rudd and bassist Cliff Williams make a great rhythm section that's simple, solid and steady, not to mention the hellhound voice of Brian Johnson. The ingredients to AC/DC's music will always be a strong combination of Johnson's slyly winking innuendo-filled lyrics, a solid backline of rhythm laying down foundation like concrete, and Young's biting lead work seeped deep in the blues.

Johnson joined the band in the spring of 1980, replacing the late Bon Scott, and he's arguably the most successful lead singer replacement in rock history. AC/DC proved themselves a top rock band with the success of 1979's 'Highway to Hell' album, but after losing Bon in 1980, no one knew if the band would survive, but they came back stronger than ever with 'Back In Black,' which is one of the biggest selling albums in rock history with 40-million copies sold. AC/DC, who have recorded over two-dozen albums, are also one of the top five album catalog artists in US music history.

In fact, AC/DC continue to survive, endure, and most importantly, rock. When inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Aerosmith's Joe Perry correctly stated that 'AC/DC became the litmus test of what rock does.' Most bands end-up changing their styles, and selling-out to a different audience. Not AC/DC. An AC/DC concert is full of all the things disappearing from today's music, a loud, hard, raucus good time, and they're one of the most consistent and reliable live bands you'll ever see.

An AC/DC concert gives you an onslaught of their best songs, practically the equivilent of three greatest hits albums, everything from 'Back in Black' to 'TNT,' 'Highway to Hell' to 'You Shook Me All Night Long', culminating great set of tunes with 'For Those About to Rock,' and many, many more. For those who want the best of their catalog, an AC/DC show is 95% classic tunes, 5% new songs, and their 'Black Ice' material is some of their best in years. Like Angus' perennial school boy clothes, the tunes mostly remain the same, and they sound as great as they did decades ago.

As for other AC/DC concert traditions, you'll still see Angus performing his guitar solo while riding through the crowd on a security guard's shoulders, his legendary legendary strip and moon the crowd routine, Johnson ringing the enormous steel bell for 'Hell's Bells,' and the blasting cannons that climax 'For Those About to Rock.'

AC/DC never changed their music for the latest trends, and were able to survive punk, new wave, hair metal, grunge, and anything else that came along during the band's life. Because they've stuck around long enough, at their concerts you'll see AC/DC tour shirts of all ages and vintage. AC/DC have been a big Influence on innumerable metal bands, and still have big following in the metal community because of the hard and strong delivery of their music, but AC/DC is a true rock and roll band to its core. Whatever music you like, chances are you have at least one AC/DC album in your collection because the music's too awesome to ignore, and the same goes for their live shows.
